Big White

Big White Mountain

Big White Mountain Resort is one of the world's best natural play grounds, delivering some of the lightest powder on top of some of the most amazing terrain. It doesn't really matter if you participate in the 4 week, 6 week or 12 week course, because there is absolutely no way you will get bored here. This is one of the reasons that many people return season after season. Even seasonnaire's who have been here for years are still finding new places to play in the white stuff. The tree runs are unlimited and after some instruction from your instructors, you will be handling these like a stroll in the park. Mini cliffs are dotted all over the hill giving you untold amounts of fun, and then you can build up to the bigger drops if that's of interest.

The Slopes

118 runs in total. Not as big as your massive European resorts like the 3 Valleys, but what it lacks in size it delivers with quality. The difference: varying terrain with no lift lines allows you to be on snow more than if you were in Europe. Choose from "Ogo Slow", a long lazy green run to "Exhibition", a nice warm up blue or even "Shakey Knees", one of the big black bump runs. After all, that is what you are signing up for, right? The more time you spend on snow the better you become, and Snow Rehab's goal is to teach you to ski or snowboard like a pro.

Our level 2 and level 3 instructor courses are given at Big White because the on-piste terrain offers the ideal amount of variety required to pass these courses. The Telus Terrain Park features an Olympic calibre ski and boarder cross course, serviced by its own lift to give immediate access to all the park rats amongst us. As if that wasn't enough, the natural fall line of the resort ensures you will be able to slide everywhere without having to skate along any flats. You're liking the sound of this aren't you?

The White Stuff

All in all, this area receives around 750cm of the fluffy white stuff throughout the winter season. That is a massive accumulation of snow! Is there any wonder that the resort's tag line is "IT'S THE SNOW". One thing you will experience during your time at Big White is at least knee deep powder, which would translate into face shots when you're moving. Now, if you are like our director Gordon, you would be waist deep in it. He is not know for his height, and in this case, there are benefits to being a little on the short side! There is nothing more addictive, than being able to play around in the fluffy white stuff at Big White during your course or on your own free time. The energy in the lift line after a night of heavy snow fall is electric! You see, everyone is there for the same reason and even by the end of the day you will still be finding fresh lines! You really want some of this don't you? Book now if you like! The mountain closed at the end of the 2011 season with a base of 325 cm!

Telus Terrain Park

The terrain park at Big White is dope! So you are a junior park rat, and don't quite have the moves down yet? Start off in the small and medium terrain park to practice your rails and figure out the best jib lines before being fast tracked to the XL lane by your instructor during the spring freestyle course. Imagine throwing an inverted 7 off the 35m kicker and having the footage to take back to show your mates. Now that's what Snow rehab is all about. Taking your addiction and giving you the fix! Mess around in the ½ pipe or race your mates in the Snowcross Track – such a massive playground

Snow Sports School

If you can picture yourself out skiing or boarding with some of the best, most professional skiers and snowboarders Canada has to offer, then you would be out with the Snow Sports School at Big White.

Whether you take part in an improvement course or you are working to obtain higher instructor qualifications, the Snow School will deliver the best on-mountain experience you can imagine. The instruction is delivered in a relaxed manner, as if you were out skiing with your mates who are giving you some good tips to improve, so it doesn't feel like you are in class all day. Be prepared to let these professionals push you to your limits though! You will be skiing or snowboarding for 5 hours per day, 5 days per week with a pro after all.
