You can't do 12 or 6 weeks, you're sat at home and your ski's are in the corner begging to get out to play. Big White's natural playground and Telus park are calling to you aswell, promising big air and sick rails.
Our team sat around brainstorming the ultimate way to merge skis with mountain and help you improve your park riding skills. One answer was obvious: it has to be in the spring!
Throwing it down at Telus Park in the spring is awesome, with loads of snow, sunshine and tunes beating out of the park sound system. Big White's terrain park has a variety of small, medium, large and XL kickers, boxes, rails and more, along with a half pipe and skier cross course. It also has its own dedicated chairlift! There is no chance of boredom, because when you're not being taught how to rip in the park, you will be on the mountain playing on natural kickers down CAN CAN, dropping mini (or massive) cliffs or sliding logs. When the day is over enjoy a beer, hot dog and tunes down at the village BBQ, before moving on to Sam's or somewhere else to enjoy the evening. And to cap it off, you will get to party with the rest of the Snow Rehab posse who have been there for the season!
This will be the first course of its kind being held by ski school in the spring. Josh Foster, the ski school director, and his team are stoked about the whole idea and have prepared an awesome schedule to fill 5 hours for 5 days of the week. Specialised park and freestyle ski instructors have been chosen. Weekends are for you to chill and recoup after the week of playing on the hill and partying hard (if that's your thing)! Depending on your ability, by the end of this spring session you will be throwing down sick spins and getting air you have only dreamed of. Your instructors will analyse video with you for maximum improvement, and you can take a compilation of these home for memories and bragging rights. On top of this, Edith Rozsa, ex Canadian Ski Cross Team Member will be on hand to give you some tips.
Seriously, our team has thought very carefully about how and what to do in order to make this course one of the best experiences of your life. We have chosen spring time for a couple of reasons:
You have probably had a one week trip already during the winter and really want to get away again.
Being Snow addicts we know that spring is, without any doubt, a great time to be in a mountain resort. The relaxed, party atmosphere that surrounds the end of the winter is awesome.
……And as in all our other courses we are addicted to making it special for you.
Should you like to find out more about becoming a ski instructor during your spring session, just chat with the friendly Big White Ski school team. If you impress enough during the course they might advise you do your level 1 whilst you are there.
