This course is an introduction to snowboarding instruction and the role of a snowboard instructor within the industry. You will receive training on beginner teaching methods, understanding of basic snowboard technique, as well as lesson planning and effective communication skills. The level 1 course is designed to give you the skills necessary to begin your role as a snowboard instructor.

During the course, coaching will be provided to help improve your snowboarding ability along with feedback about good teaching skills. Not only will you be prepared for the Level 1 certificate, but you also receive advice and strategies for future career development.

This course will improves your riding ability and includes much more, including but not limited to:

• Class Management for the enjoyment of everyone
• Good Lesson Planning which helps your students progress 
• The CASI Skills Concept
• Teaching Methodology

When I pass, what level of snowboarder can I teach?

When you are successful, you will be certified to teach beginner snowboarders through to a lower intermediate level.

How long is the exam and is it stressful?

The exam is set over 3 days, it is fun, enjoyable, and within a relaxed atmosphere. Any pressure you feel is created by you. We encourage you to breath in fresh mountain air and go for a free slide to clear your head! This is a '0' stress mountain environment! Assessment is continuous throughout the duration of the 3 day exam.

Where can I work with my CASI certificate?

Go to any resort in Canada and the USA for employment opportunities (with the correct visa if required).
