The backcountry awareness course will have you splitboarding, hiking and dropping the steeps of Revelstoke. Achieving the CAA Avalanche Operations Level 1 will give you a highly regarded qualification the world over, allowing you to work within patrol or progress as a heli or Cat guide. With weather and avalanche skills, advanced backcountry and snowboard improvement training, you will gain respect and obtain a comprehensive knowledge for snow conditions and avalanche risk assessment.

1.What Type of Winter Sports Insurance Do I Need?
We recomend single trip winter sport insurance if you are joining us for a 12, 6 or 4 week trip. As a Snow Rehab participant you will benefit from 15% discount on various policies from ERV Insurance. Speak to your course advisor upon booking regarding the promo code.
2.Can I work as a Heliski Guide?
Participating on this course gives you the qualifications to start the journey as a tail guide for a heli or cat operation. The AST courses give you an understanding of what is required to obtain your CAA level 1. From this you will also require an Occupational First Aid Level 3 to seek employment as a tail guide. Our Course advisors have further information about internships contact our course advisors
3.Do I Have to Pay For The Course in One Lump Sum?

4.Do I Require A Canadian Work Visa?
No Canadian work Visa is required for the course. Depending on which country you are coming from you will have double check your visitor eligibility with one of our course advisors. For most nations this is a very simple process of aquiring an Electronic Travel Authorisation which is noe required to visit Canada.
5.What Equipment Do I Require For The Backcountry Course?

As you will be spending a lot of time on snow we recommend purchasing your own equipment. Speak to a course advisor about the equipment discounts available to you as a Snow Rehab participant.

For the Backcountry Ski Course we recommend skis with touring bindings, touring boots, avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel (metal) and a 35 litre back pack.
6.How Soon Should I Reserve My Place
