These three apps will be your best friend this winter!
1. Snoww ski tracking app
Snoww is a socially integrated ski tracking app that allows you to follow friends and pros and compare your vital ski statistics - distance, vertical drop, top speed and calories burned. You can also compete with other skiers and climb your way to the top of your mountain's leaderboard based on distance, vertical drop, top speed. Compare your stats over time and unlock trophies for achieving milestones. Ski 26.2 miles in one day to win the Marathon trophy and ski both hemispheres for The Endless Winter trophy.
The free app can be downloaded here: https://appsto.re/gb/zJqmeb.i or by searching for snoww in the App store.
2. Snowflake Dating/Meet-up App
Snowflake is like Tinder for snowboarders! The app integrates with your Facebook profile. Upload up to 6 of your favourite photos - work those angles! Tell the app your ski or board level, your home mountain and the area of your riding you want to improve!
“My hope for Snowflake is that users will meet up with each other based on ability level and what they love to do on the mountain rather than just attractiveness. Maybe a romantic relationship occurs, but if not, at least they had a great time shredding!” Catherine Marston told Transworld Snowboarding.
3. SkiPhone app
SkiPhone helps tackle the issues surrounding trying to use your phone wearing your ski gloves.
Shake your phone up and down to get voice actions/answer/hangup actions. Shake front to back to start the camera feature. Once you shake the phone you'll get a preview screen with a 5 second countdown. At the end of the countdown, the app takes a picture and saves it. Thanks SkiPhone!
