100% Pass Rate on week 4. A big week for all of the groups as the snowboarders had their Level One exam on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, which went very smoothly even with the harsh weather conditions. Snow Rehab is happy to say that we had 100% pass rate from our snowboarders, which is brilliant. The celebrations started early with rounds of shots and ended with some puking by 10pm, but no names mentioned because we are all friends here! The boarders can’t wait to start their Level Two training.
The Level One skiers had Dobby for their exam prep week, which involved them being down in Happy Valley for a few hours of practice teaching. The rest of the week was spent skiing round ironing out any kinks. At the end of the week they headed over to Gem Lake for bumps practice.
The Level Three skiers had their Level Three pre course, which involved ‘lots of skiing’ as they bluntly put it and did their 30-minute practice teach. Friday was the big ski off, which went very well, just a few details to be worked on. They had a deal if any of them fell over they had to buy a pitcher of beer…….. there were at least 4 pitchers on the table when we all met up with them!
The winter Olympics started which we are all very excited about. Friday morning a few of us stayed in from the cold and watched the opening ceremony which was brilliant, even though there where some bits we had no idea what was going on! It was still excellent.
Friday nights are always eventful, and this one was no different. It seems to be habit now that our Fridays start at 3pm in the Bullwheel and moves over to Sam’s for ‘one’ but we don’t seem to leave until 2am apart from Jess who doesn’t seem to make it past 8! A solid 11 hours of drinking, which was followed by watching the Men’s slope style final, team GB made a good effort.
The weekend was a chilled one again with a few of the guys going down to Kelowna doing a bit of shopping. Others going out for a bit of a ski even though it is still bloody cold! For the rest of us who are lazy, we watched the Olympics drinking tea with the fire on. Happy Days!
I can’t wait for next week because we will be returning to an acceptable temperature, and it is going to snow finally!
