Begin riding steeps and the park with confidence. Big White has a natural ability to help your riding progress to where you want it to be whether you are doing tree lines, dropping cliffs or shredding some of the deepest powder. Due to its location in the interior of British columbia, Big White has one of the best snow records in Canada. Coastal and inland storms converge over the area delivering the driest snow in large amounts. Expect to have regular plus 40cms powder days.

WEEK 1 Flight day and resort arrival. Meet the Snow Rehab and Big White team for your introduction to the resort and facilities. Collection of season passes. Find your legs and get to know the mountain with the Snow Rehab team over the weekend. Level selection with snowboard instructor team then up on to the Mountain for terrain adaptation. On piste training to establish stance and mobility on your board.
WEEK 2 Start to eliminate any bad habits. This week is for mileage over varied terrain working on basic skill elements of snowboarding. Free time over the course of the weekend.
WEEK 3 Training and skill development on short turns and within the bumps building on balance and timing. On piste and a little off piste terrain. During the weekend is the Avalanche Awareness Course, giving you the AST Level 1 certification upon successful completion. Snowboard challenge to score you for the all mountain certificate.
WEEK 4 Fun time! Free week to enjoy the mountain with new friends and training buddies. Chill out in the hot tubs to rest your legs or get involved in an optional road trip (speak to the resort team)!
WEEK 5 Training week, snowboard improvement, racing against your colleagues in a dual contest for fun. Man up against the instructors and see how you are improving. Opportunity to try snowboard cross. Big mountain experience learning how to deal with deep snow and tree runs. Weekend free time.
WEEK 6 Crossover option, try skiing. This needs to be confirmed before departure. Good fun trying another skill. First aid course given by the fire department on the weekend.
WEEK 7 By now your skills on snow will be at a very high level so now you will progress to steeper and deeper terrain. Lots of off piste and backcountry training in trees and tougher terrain. Second Ski of challenge with the aim to better your week 3 score! Weekend free time to rest.
WEEK 8 Play time, one week off to celebrate and practice your talent with your new found friends. Maybe go on a road trip, to discover other parts of Canada. This really is time to do whatever you want, you have earned the time.
WEEK 9 Training will be focused around your ability to get air this week, whether it is dropping mini (or massive) cliffs into some of British Columbia’s white stuff, or jibbing in the park. This is one week you have worked really hard to enjoy. Week end off.
WEEK 10 Continuation of steep and deep terrain before progressing into the freestyle park. Here you will be trained(depending on ability) on the small to medium kickers, rails and boxes.
WEEK 11 Last week of instruction to prepare for the epic back country Cat Boarding Experience
WEEK 12 Free ski week to enjoy your newly learned skills. Option to upgrade to the mountain swap, leave Big White for Revelstoke, 7 nights in Revelstoke, first couple of days with the Revelstoke team enjoying mountain orientation and your Powder Cat experience, then the rest to party and free ski a new mountain.

Snowboard instructors who work at Big White are seriously passionate about their hill a high level of results. Due to their enthusiasm, the course content is unbelievable giving you fun training on-snow 5 hours per day, 5 days a week - That is a lot of snow time! The snowboard improvement course covers every aspect of progression from riding switch to timing tree runs to perfection.
